As a happy, healthy and loving pet can invigorate Chi energy in an environment, a pet that is neglected or abused can diminish the powerful affects of
chi energy. Feng shui suggests that there is an interconnection with loving and honoring your pet and creating a greater sense of well being and happiness for yourself and other members of your household.
There are some nursing homes aware of this inter connection as they have brought in loving animals to visit with the residents. By offering love and attention to the elderly residents, these happy and healthy animal friends invigorated vital Chi energy in nursing homes creating a greater sense of well being for the elderly people they visited. We can invigorate the vital Chi energy of our pets by including them in our walks, offering them a playtime and extending our love and affection to them. Their return of happiness will have a positive effect on the Chi energy in your environment.
There is also an interconnection between your pet and the bagua map, a Feng Shui tool used for placement. During my educational workshops, we talk about how placement of pet photographs or artwork depicting images of our pets can be placed to support us in our environment. If we have pictures of healthy pets that we have accepted as loving members of our family, we can place these pictures in the health and family sectors. They will honor your intention of maintaining and cultivating strong physical health and family relations.
Feng Shui & Cats
This is where cats can help, they are sensitive to these energies and they can have a beneficial effect on them. Cats always gravitate towards areas of bad or stale chi within the home or garden and set about converting it into a more auspicious energy. Also there are the benefits of the love and affection that is created when a cat is brought into a home. Tests have proved that living together is beneficial for people and pets. Stroking a cat lowers heart rates, blood pressure and stress levels.
In nature, all things are in harmony. Animals living in nature live harmoniously with the energies that surround them. When animals spend most or all of their time in artificial indoor environments, they are at the mercy of the inharmonious energies that might be present in the environment. These energies can greatly affect their health and emotional well being. You may have taken great pains to create a harmonious and esthetically beautiful atmosphere in your home without considering that, for your animal companion, things may be far from harmonious. This can be better understood by taking a look at indoor life from the perspective of your cat, dog or other small animal. Get down at their eye level and take a look around. Often the area closest to the floor is the most neglected from a housekeeping standpoint, being the most untidy. It is all a matter of perspective. What you experience and what your cat, dog or rabbit experiences can be quite different, indeed!
